GLP-1 Weight Management

GLP-1 medicines (often called weight-loss injections or pens) mimic natural gut hormones to support weight loss and blood sugar control。

They reduce appetite, boost insulin release, and slow gastric emptying to keep you feeling full longer。

GLP-1 drugs are FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes and weight management, with tirzepatide (Eli Lilly) and semaglutide (Novo Nordisk) as the main options。

Mediva Rx offers equally effective but more affordable generic GLP-1 medicines, so you can focus on your health instead of high drug costs。

  • 1. What is Mediva Rx and what services does it provide?

Mediva Rx is a Hong Kong–registered e-commerce service company that helps consumers purchase medicines from pharmaceutical manufacturers in Bangladesh, simplifying the cross-border buying process.

As a personal importer, you purchase medicines directly from our partner manufacturers in Bangladesh for your own use, and the factory ships the products directly to your designated address. Mediva provides multilingual interfaces, ordering assistance, payment support, and logistics tracking.

Mediva is not a pharmacy and does not supply medicines within Hong Kong. All products are shipped directly from the partner manufacturers. No medicines are stored, repackaged, or delivered within Hong Kong. We hold no inventory and do not participate in physical drug supply or distribution; we provide ordering assistance only.

All Mediva-listed products are non-controlled medicines and are not regulated under Hong Kong’s Dangerous Drugs Ordinance.

  • 2. What are generic medicines, and how do they differ from brand-name drugs?

Generic medicines—also called “copy drugs” or “non-patent drugs”—are medications produced by other manufacturers after the patent on a brand-name drug expires, using the same active ingredients and dosage formulas.

To qualify as a generic drug, it must have:
    • the same active ingredient,
    • the same dosage form and strength, and
    • demonstrated bioequivalence.

Because generic manufacturers do not bear the original R&D costs, generics are usually far more affordable. Most healthcare systems worldwide—such as in the US, UK, Japan, and Taiwan—widely use generics to manage medical costs.

Generics contain the identical active ingredients as brand drugs but use different brand names and appearances to avoid trademark conflicts.

Before approval, generics must undergo regulatory testing to prove they deliver the same efficacy and absorption rate as the original drug, ensuring equal safety and therapeutic effect.

  • 3. Why are generics still under patent protection available through Mediva Rx?

Mediva Rx sources its generic medicines from reputable manufacturers in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is classified by the WTO as a Least Developed Country (LDC) and is exempt from pharmaceutical patent obligations under the TRIPS Agreement. This exemption—valid until 2033—allows Bangladeshi manufacturers to legally produce generic versions of many patented drugs that are still under protection in other countries.

With regulated quality and standardized formulations, these generics are typically less than one-third the price of brand-name medicines, offering significant relief for long-term and chronic-care patients.

  • 4. Are the Bangladeshi manufacturers Mediva Rx works with reliable?
Benefiting from WTO patent exemptions, Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical industry has attracted significant global investment. The country is now one of the world’s top 20 medicine exporters, home to more than 300 GMP-certified manufacturers. Its products are shipped to over 150 countries, including the UK, EU, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

Our partner manufacturer, Ziska Pharmaceuticals, is one of Bangladesh’s top 10 leading drug producers. It operates its own R&D, manufacturing, and quality-control laboratories and is certified under international GMP standards. Ziska’s products are widely exported across the Middle East and Southeast Asia and are trusted for their quality.
  • 5. Are Mediva Rx medicines authentic, and how can they be verified?
They are authentic. All Mediva Rx products are shipped directly from the manufacturer with full packaging, batch numbers, and expiration dates. You can verify each item through Ziska Pharmaceuticals’ online verification system.
  • 6. Do I need to provide a prescription when purchasing from Mediva Rx?
We recommend providing your doctor’s prescription and diagnosis to our support team so the manufacturer can include them with your shipment.

In many countries, customs may conduct random inspections. Including a prescription can greatly reduce the risk of delays or returns and help ensure smooth delivery.
  • 7. Can medicines be returned or exchanged after delivery?
Medicines are classified as special goods. To ensure authenticity and safety, Mediva Rx cannot accept returns or exchanges. However, if an error on our side results in the wrong product being shipped, please contact our online support team and we will resend the correct item at no cost.
  • 8. Do the medicines require refrigeration, and will shipping affect their effectiveness?
If you are purchasing GLP-1 injectables (tirzepatide or semaglutide), they normally require refrigeration, but short periods at room temperature are permitted. Shipping at ambient temperatures does not affect their effectiveness, so you can use them with confidence.
  • 9. How long does shipping take, and is tracking provided?
Mediva Rx ships via DHL Express, and delivery typically takes 3–5 business days. Every order includes a tracking number so you can monitor the shipment throughout the entire process.
